Spring is officially here, and my office is buzzing with book news! I’ve finished writing “The Summer Guests” and book tour plans are coming together quickly! I love this way this novel turned out and I’m so excited to share it with you. It will be officially available June 11th. If you want to see if I’m coming to a place near you, check out my events list.

I’m excited to see the novel already receiving some book love! One of my favorite magazines, Southern Living, just included “The Summer Guests” on its list of 25 Beach Reads Perfect for Summer. And, Southern Living recently hosted an exclusive cover reveal, which included a brief excerpt here.

“The Summer Guests” is a book about hurricane evacuation. An important question posed in this story is: what should I take with me? What do I treasure?

I live on a barrier island in South Carolina, so I’ve experienced the stress of evacuating many times. Southern Living allowed me to share some of my personal thoughts on the issue of evacuation and how it relates to my novel. Read it here. And please feel free to share your thoughts about your own experiences. Are you prepared to evacuate if you had to? What treasures would you take?

I am visiting Charleston in a sweep of the Carolina coasts and Georgia coast. But not enough time here in Savannah or the outer banks. I wish there there was a tour that took us specifically to the cities and such that are the foundations of your books. As well as the other authors. Seeing the devastation of the various hurricanes and storms, hearing of a turtle laying eggs, being so close to Mount Pleasant … and other authors too. Anybody going to create such a tour trip?

      Dear Phoebe,
I wish you a memorable trip to Charleston and the beaches. This is a special place that you’ll want to visit again and again. I love your idea of a tour based on the novels I’ve written. There’s no such tour available, but your comment makes me think I should look into that. What fun that would be! Thank you, Phoebe!

Always get your newest beach series book at 1/4 Moon book store in Topsail beach NC. While we vacation here every year. I guess you’re done with that series, but your new book comes out two days after we leave, so sad…will have to read at home…..love your books, pass them on to friends, daughter in law etc.

Darn it that the annual trip to Quartermoon Bookstore didn’t time out with book release this year. But, I love that you always go visit. Beautiful place! Thank you for ordering my books and for sharing them, too! That is special!
